How do you grease a Bobcat skidsteer?

I am borrowing a friend’s Bobcat skidsteer, and he lives about 4 hours away. The Bobcat really needs to be greased before I can use it anymore, but he can’t come grease it, and said that I can. I have never greased a Bobcat, and really don’t know what I am doing. Could you give me some tips? What kind of grease and greasegun should I buy?

Thanks in advance for your help!

water proof grease, and a G-gun with a handle [to pump it]
look for little nipples, clean them off before putting hose on it, it clicks on

There will be grease nipples on every moving joint. You need a grease gun with a good grade of grease… just give each joint a pump or two until you start to see new grease appearing around the fitting.

On a Melroe Bobcat (a real bobcat) – there are a couple fittings that are tough to reach with the bucket all the way down – you’ll have to raise it slightly … be sure to prop/ block it and NEVER, EVER come out of the cab and under a raised bucket.

    Piece of cake.
